For many years Audi have reigned supreme as one of the world's most renowned automotive manufacturers of luxury SUV vehicles. From developing innovative Hill Descent Assist technology and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) modes that enhance the handling capabilities and vehicular stability of current models such as Audi Q5, these international automotive manufacturers have enabled motorists to tackle all types of off-road terrain with ease.
Not content to rest on their laurels, Audi have unveiled a selection of new and exciting luxury vehicle concepts at the recent IAA Frankfurt Motor Show 2015. Among these concepts was the Audi E-Tron Quattro; a spacious SUV that is powered by three electric motors. By designing the E-Tron Quattro with one electric motor at the front and two at the back of the vehicle, with which to drive each rear wheel independently, Audi have created an ecologically responsible yet luxurious SUV that possesses a formidable all-electric range of 310 miles. What's more, Audi have teased that this E-Tron Quattro will be able to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 4.6 seconds; a feat that can be put to the test upon its 2018 commercial release.
In addition to this opulent electric SUV, Audi also revealed another edition to their prestigious S models range; the SQ5 TDI Plus. Similarly to the E-Tron Quattro, the SQ5 TDI Plus has been created with environmentally efficient endeavours in mind. Despite being a diesel with the ability to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 5.1 seconds, the SQ5 TDI Plus's V6 diesel engine will only use 6.6 litres of fuel per km. Moreover, not only will the SQ5 TDI Plus be fitted with permanent all-wheel drive, but it will also boast a rear sport differential that will distribute power to the rear wheels. Consequently, both the vehicle concept of the E-Tron Quattro and that of the SQ5 TDI Plus can reassure motorists that Audi's developers will continue to develop and design a wide range of luxurious yet practical technological features which will actively benefit off-road enthusiasts!
